About Project

The urban area is a system composed of a number of elements (land, buildings, infrastructure, etc.) that are interconnected building, functional, and organizational. Observing its basic characteristics (constant growth, development, and expansion in the space accompanied by constant changes in economic, social, and functional possibilities), numerous tasks have emerged from the active work with a large amount of data, which should be solved at all decision levels (operational, tactical, strategic). In addition to various technical aspects, the tasks include environmental, economic, social, and cultural aspects that form the basis of an urban entity, and all together point to an interdisciplinary approach to solving tasks. The stated aspects of the observation will be set out in the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 through sustainable development goals.

The research is focused on 1) modeling of the mentioned systems and their introduction into the data management sub-system (operational level); 2) modeling new models and methods for solving structured and unstructured tasks and their introduction into the model management model (tactical and strategic level); 3) by forming the subsystem dialog. The aforementioned subsystems would create a unique decision support system that would allow the interaction of all subsystems (data and models) at each hierarchical level.

The stated aim is to provide support to decision-makers at all levels of the decision hierarchy. The main goal of this scientific research is to establish new models for solving structured and unstructured tasks that appear at all decision-making levels and to create a decision-making support system based on group decision-making.

The project is supported by the University of Rijeka under the project number uniri-pr-tehnic-19-18.
